The Spokin' Word

Licking County Bicycle Club Newsletter

2nd Quarter 2010 (special edition)

by Debbie Belcher

Ah, summer! Already this year, we have set out on a lot of great rides and several overnight trips which have left us with some fun, interesting stories and pictures to share. Those can all be seen on the website at www.lickingcountybicycleclub.com.

The goal of the Licking County Bicycle Club is to promote safe recreational group bicycling while enjoying the outdoors, and the company of good friends.   If you have an interest in cycling, then you are in the right place.

While our Club is a road riding group,  we understand that many of our new riders might be hesitant to ride on the roads the first couple of times out or feel they lack the ability to cover a certain number of miles at the outset.   Many of our seasoned riders were in the same position when they first started which is why we want to help you.   Please contact me to discuss your riding level so we can tailor a ride that will meet your skill level,  help you feel more confident, and eventually get you out on the road.   The second goal of the LCBC is to provide you with the right tools to get you started on what we hope will be a lifelong enjoyment of cycling.

The Club meets every Tuesday and Saturday morning at 8:00 am (weather permitting) in the parking lot of the Newark YMCA.   Rides vary from 30-50 miles with most rides having a short and a long route depending on how far you want to ride.   If you have any questions about an upcoming ride feel to contact me or one of the other Club officers.

See you on the road!
