The 2008 Land of Legend Tour is celebrating its 36th anniversary! Come experience a Central Ohio tradition and a uniquely
enjoyable bicycling opportunity. This year's ride will be on Saturday, June 28. The tour will be a deluxe budget tour with
well defined routes, plenty of food vendors along the route, cell-phone requested SAG, cookies, and a reward for all finishers.
We've designed this year's tour to appeal to the casual rider as well as the long-distance hill-climber looking for a
challenge. Route options of 29, 62, and 100 miles wind through the scenic back roads of Licking and Knox counties.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 28.

No matter which route you chose you will see some fantastic rural scenery and beautiful natrual areas. All routes will pass
the Longaberger Basket Company headquarters housed in a 7 story woven picnic basket complete with handles. It's one of the
most unique buildings in the country. All riders will follow the Panhandle Trail, named for the railway that once operated
the route from Pitsburgh to Cincinnati. The shorter route is fairly flat with a few small climbs and will pass near but not
through the Blackhand Gorge. The countryside at this time of year is wonderful.

The metric century and century routes will head further east and north and will vary from flat to rolling with some good climbs
while visiting Fallsburg, Amish country, and Bladensburg. The century route also features Gambier, Mt. Vernon, and the Kokosing
Gap trail, one of the best maintained trails in the state. The century route will continue through the villages of Homer,
Croton, and Johnstown.
The first big climb for the longer routes, at the 13 mile mark, is the famous "Dragoo Road Hill." It's the
toughest hill of the day, so if you make it over Dragoo, the rest will be easy. Be sure to put in some hill climb-training
before attempting these longer routes.
